Cafe Mural

At Cafe Carolina and Bakery, we have a passion for creating a place that is special to our guests. That’s why we’re so proud of the mural we commissioned for our Cameron Village cafe!

In 2006, the shopping center removed the parking deck that had been beside us for many years, opening a clear view to the exterior wall of our restaurant. We saw it as the perfect canvas for a special piece of art for our guests to enjoy as they approach the restaurant. So we enlisted the talents of local artists Kellie Lewis and Autumn L. N. Cobeland to create the beautiful and colorful mural which we call “Cafe Life.”

cafemuralartist_thumbBoth artists were raised in the Raleigh area and are excited to create public art for their community. With Autumn’s background in fine art painting and Kellie’s experience in design, their strengths combine to produce engaging art with distinctive character. Kellie and Autumn have been creating murals together in the Raleigh area for several years, including projects such as the well-known porch scene located at the corner of Peace Street and Glenwood Avenue, murals for the Wake County Libraries at Cameron Village and Holly Springs, and a 40-foot agricultural mural for the Sampson County Agricultural Center in Clinton, N.C.

Should you wish to contact Kellie and Autumn for further information on their art, you may reach them via e-mail at kellielewis@nc.rr.com or phone at (919) 829-9789

We hope that you enjoy our mural as much as we do. We think it’s a feast for the eyes!
